Basil essential oil
Botanical name: Ocimum basilicum
Cultivation: Conventional (100% pure, 100% natural)
Country of origin: Vietnam
Main properties: antispasmodic, digestive, antiinflammatory, anti-infectious, insect repellent.
Indications:
Aerophagia: Basil essential oil + Peppermint essential oil + Cumin + Lemon essential oil + Tarragon. Prepare a mix using 5 ml of each. Absorb 1 drop of this blend on a spoon of honey (or small piece of bread) following meal.
Heartburn: 3 ml of Basil essential oil + 3 ml of Chamomile + 6 ml of Coriander + 3 ml of Peppermint essential oil + 6 ml of Sweet marjoram + 3 ml of Lavender essential oil. Absorb 1 drop of this blend 2 to 3 times a day for 10 days.
Colitis: Basil essential oil + Savory + Lavender essential oil + Cinnamon + Orange. 10 ml of each. Absorb 1 drop of this blend on a spoon of honey (or small piece of bread) 3 times a day, following meal.
Renal colic: Basil essential oil + Ledon essential oil + Seville orange. 2 ml of each to dilute in 20 ml of macadamia vegetable oil orjojoba (double the volume of vegetable oil if administered to an infant). Massage the abdomen with a few drops of this blend 5 to 6 times a day.
Concentration (lack of): 5 ml of Basil essential oil + 5 ml of Peppermint essential oil + 2 ml of Pine. Mix in a bottle. Absorb 2 drops of this blend on a spoon of honey (or small piece of bread) twice a day for a week.
Diarrhea: Basil essential oil + Sweet marjoram. 1 drop of each on a spoon of honey before meals. See alternative composition with Cinnamon.
Fatigue: Basil essential oil + Cinnamon + Thyme essential oil + Sage + Peppermint essential oil + Clove. 5 ml of each. Absorb 1 drop of this blend twice a day for 4 weeks.
Viral hepatitis, toxaemic: 1 ml of Basil essential oil + 3 ml of Ravensara essential oil + 2 ml of Thyme thujanol essential oil + 3 ml of Greenland Ledon to mix in a bottle. Absorb 3 drops of this mix on a spoon of honey or olive oil 3 times a day (before meals) and 6 drops of the same blend to apply locally above the liver location.
Hiccup: Basil essential oil + Seville orange essential oil + Tarragon. 1 drop of each on a small piece of softbread (every 10 to 15 minutes). If administered to children, make sure to divide this dosage by 3 (by diluting this mix in more vegetable oil).
Headache: 5 ml of Basil essential oil + 10 ml of Peppermint essential oil + 5 ml of Lavandin + 20 ml of macadamia or jojoba vegetable oil. Mix in a bottle. Massage the temples several times a day if necessary.
Phlebitis: 5 ml of Basil essential oil + 5 ml of Eucalyptus globulus + 3 ml of Helichrysum essential oil + 100 ml of vegetable oil (jojoba, macadamia or apricot kernel). Massage the legs from bottom to top in the morning and evening.
Vomiting: Basil essential oil + Peppermint essential oil. 1 drop of each on a piece of bread, several times a day if necessary.
Contraindications: Do not use pure essential oil on the skin (causes inflammation). Not to be used by pregnant or breast-feeding women.
