Monoï After-Sun Cream

Description

Ingredients

• Phase 1:

  • 100 g water
  • 0.25 g Xanthan Gum

• Phase 2:

  • 30 g Monoi oil
  • 10 g Coconut oil
  • 10 g Sweet Almond oil

• Phase 3:

  • 10 g Shea Butter
  • 10 g Cocoa butter

• Phase 4:

  • 10 drops Geranium (or Ylang Ylang) essential oil
  • 5 g silk powder
  • Preservative (as recommended)

Preparation:

1. Phase 1:
   In a beaker, weigh out the water and sprinkle in 0.25 g Xanthan Gum while stirring with a mixer. Emulsify until the powder is completely solubilized and forms a gel.

2. Mixing Phase 2:
   Add the ingredients from phase 2 to the same beaker and mix.

3. Phase 3:
   In another beaker, weigh out the ingredients for phase 3. Heat the two beakers separately in a bain-marie until they reach around 70°C.

4. Mixing the phases:
   When both phases have reached the same temperature (very important), remove them from the water bath. Pour phase 3 into the beaker containing phase 1 + 2 (this order of introduction is crucial). Mix with an emulsifying mixer for at least 2 minutes: the mixture will whiten and become more viscous.

5. Cooling:
   Pour the mixture into a bowl and continue stirring with a hand whisk. Place the bowl in a bain-marie of cold water to cool the cream and obtain a good texture, while continuing to stir.

6. Add Phase 4:
   Add phase 4 ingredients one by one, mixing well between each addition with the whisk (check that all the silk powder has been solubilized).

7. Check pH:
   Check that the pH is between 5 and 7 before packaging your cream.

Appearance

• Texture: Thick, pearl-gray cream.
• Odor: Floral or exotic (Monoï).

How to use:
Apply generously to the body. Massage in using circular movements to help the active ingredients penetrate the skin.

Storage:
Store in a cool, dry place, away from light.
