Summer essential oil kit

Don't forget the benefits of essential oils and take them with you. We've selected the 5 essential oils you need for summer:

Chamomile matricaria essential oil(Matricaria recutita)

Chamomile essential oil is rich in soothing and regenerating alantoine. It is particularly recommended for soothing sensitive or irritated skin. It can also relieve itching of the eczema or urticaria type.

Lavender aspic essential oil(Lavandula latifolia)

Powerful anti-bacterial and anti-viral, Lavender aspic essential oil is the "number one" essential oil to have in your summer kit.
One drop applied to a sting or pimple will work wonders. Mix a drop of Lavender aspic essential oil with aloe vera gel, a vegetable oil or our Elemental Cream, it soothes the skin at the end of the day after sun exposure and helps it regenerate.

Citronella essential oil(Cymbopogon winterianus or nardus)

Citronella's reputation for killing biting insects is well established. In summer, it will be appreciated by all for a sting-free evening. To apply to the skin, dilute a drop of citronella essential oil with the equivalent of a teaspoon of aloe vera gel, vegetable oil or Elemental Cream before applying to the skin. If you have sensitive skin, you can also pour a few drops onto a cotton ball or cloth to put in your pocket, or onto a piece of perfumable jewelry.

Peppermint essential oil(Mentha piperita)

Rich in Menthol, this essential oil is refreshing on tired legs or overheated feet. Dilute two drops of Peppermint essential oil in the equivalent of one tablespoon of aloe vera gel to refresh your feet and legs at the end of the day.
Peppermint is also a great help after a heavy meal or an evening of drinking. One drop diluted with a little aloe vera gel or vegetable oil, applied to the stomach, will improve digestive comfort. In case of nausea, simply inhale it to regain your energy.

Geranium essential oil(Pelargonium asperum)

Geranium essential oil is the essential oil every woman should have all year round. It's good for hormonal balance, provides regenerating benefits for the skin in your daily skin care routine, and can be used as a natural deodorant with a pleasant fragrance.
As it also contains Citronella and Citronnelal, the main components of Citronella, it can also help keep biters away. What's more, it's a repairing and regenerating oil for all skin types.

Lemon essential oil(Citrus limonum)

This essential oil is perfect for freshening indoor air, but it's also a detox oil for the liver and the body. If you don't have peppermint essential oil or simply prefer the scent of lemon essential oil, use this one for indigestion or morning sickness.
As with peppermint, simply breathing it in can help you feel better.
However, as Lemon essential oil can be photosensitizing, it's best to use it at the end of the day if you can't avoid exposure to the sun (and UV rays) for 8 hours after application.

Observe the precautions for using essential oils !

We don't say it enough. Essential oils are powerful concentrates of active ingredients. Use them sparingly: a single drop can work wonders. It's not because you use more than recommended that the effect will be reinforced.
With certain exceptions, essential oils should never be applied pure to the skin, and even less so in summer, when exposure to UV rays can cause irritation or blotchiness.
