The appearance of a blister is caused by repeated rubbing and excessive pressure on a part of the foot or hand. This skin condition gives rise to pain, which can become disabling. Indeed, burning sensations can make walking difficult or even impossible. The skin then forms a protective barrier between its internal tissues, separating the dermis from the epidermis by means of a pocket filled with a transparent liquid. It is important to treat a blister to prevent it from growing. We recommend piercing the blister with a small, perfectly disinfected and heated needle. A blend of essential oils is an excellent natural solution for rapid healing and pain relief.

The importance of treating a blister correctly

A blister can form anywhere on the hands or feet, from the moment repeated rubbing is applied in an unusual way. While small blisters don't necessarily require any special care (in most cases, they disappear quickly on their own), others need to be treated effectively. A blister under the arch of the foot is not to be taken lightly. It can quickly become enlarged and lead to forced immobilization, due to the severe pain experienced when walking.

If you don't want the infection to spread, it's vital to monitor the development of the blister, which is filled with clear liquid. The blister is a natural reaction by the body to protect itself, and must be treated with care. If it expands abnormally, it becomes necessary to pierce it to relieve the sensation of pain. A heated and disinfected needle is the preferred method. Afterwards, the application of an appropriate synergy will disinfect the wound and soothe the sensitive area.

Getting rid of a blister with essential oils

To treat a blister, a synergy of several essential oils is an effective natural remedy. A cutaneous application of 3 drops of the blend to the wound is recommended, generally 3 times a day over a period of around 5 days. The following essential oils should be used in combination:

  • noble Laurel essential oil
  • cistus essential oil
  • lavender Aspic essential oil
  • st John's Wort essential oil

Noble Laurel essential oil has antibacterial and antifungal properties, which are very useful for preventing the appearance of fungal infections. Cistus has a powerful healing action, preventing hypertrophic scars caused by hardening of skin tissue. Lavender Aspic essential oil quickly soothes pain, thanks to its local anesthetic power, which is highly effective on superficial wounds and irritations. St John's Wort essential oil complements the analgesic effect of Lavender Aspic to relieve inflammation, and Cistus essential oil to regenerate and repair the skin. It's important to note that some essential oil blends are not suitable for young children or pregnant women. In addition, people suffering from allergies, asthma or epilepsy are advised to take great care before starting any treatment, and must seek the advice of a health professional.
