You need to understand why you have dry or dehydrated skin and adapt your beauty routine by using the right skincare products.
Why do I have dry skin?
Dry skin can be caused by a variety of factors, such as aging, exposure to the elements, use of harsh skin care products, hormonal imbalance or a skin condition like eczema.
Here are some basic tips to follow to help treat and prevent dry skin:
-
Stay hydrated:Drink enough water to keep your body well hydrated.
-
Use moisturizing products:Usemoisturizing creams and lotionscontaining ingredients such ashyaluronic acid, glycerine and urea tohelp hydrate and protect your skin.
You can use neutral bases to which you can add these active ingredients and essential oils. -
Avoid hot showers:Hot showers can strip your skin of its natural oils, causing dryness. Opt for lukewarm showers and limit the time you spend underwater.
-
Use a humidifier:Humidifiers add moisture to the air, which can help hydrate your skin.
-
Avoid irritating products:Avoid products that can irritate your skin, such as perfumed soaps, abrasive cleansers and products containing alcohol. Instead, use spring water or hydrosols to cleanse the skin.
-
Protect your skin:Use sunscreen to protect your skin from sun damage, and wear soft clothing to avoid skin irritation.
How to use essential oil for dry skin?
Count on 5 drops of essential oil for a 50 ml jar of face cream, and up to 10 drops of essential oil for a body care product (oil, balm, cream, milk). Pour the essential oils into your neutral base: neutral cream, neutral milk or a butter or vegetable oil recommended for dry skin. Mix well, either by shaking or stirring with a disinfected utensil.
