Home Hydroalcoholic Gel with Essential Oils

Description

This purifying cleansing gel is enriched with tea tree and lemon essential oils, known for their purifying and antibacterial properties. Vegetable glycerin adds a moisturizing touch to prevent skin dryness, ideal for regular use throughout the day.

Ingredients for 50 ml:

  • Aqueous phase:

    • 15.2 g bottled water
    • 1.45 g vegetable glycerin
  • Gelling phase:

    • 0.4 g xanthan gum (or 0.2 g hyaluronic acid for additional moisturizing effect)
  • Active phase :

    • 40 g perfume base (or replace with 90° alcohol)
    • 15 drops organic tea tree essential oil
    • 5 drops organic lemon essential oil

Preparation:

  1. Mix water and vegetable glycerin in a beaker.
  2. Add the gelling agent (either 0.4 g xanthan gum or 0.2 g hyaluronic acid) by sprinkling it over the aqueous mixture, while stirring with an emulsifier. A fluid gel should form.
  3. Leave to stand for 10 minutes, then stir again to dissolve the gelling agent.
  4. Add the fragrance base in batches, mixing well after each addition to prevent the gel from clumping.
  5. Package in a 50 ml bottle, then leave to stand for 12 hours to allow any deposits to dissolve.

Customization :

  • Replace xanthan gum with hyaluronic acid for added hydration.
  • Vary the essential oils to suit your preferences, choosing those that are purifying and safe for the skin, such as lavender aspic, niaouli, ravintsara or thyme.

Final information :

  • Appearance: Fluid, transparent gel
  • Odor: Fresh, lemony
  • Shelf life: 6 months
